Don't Ignore The Nudge.....PRAY!
Don’t Ignore the Nudge…Pray
When you think of others, do you thank God? Do you realize that He’s placing their names on your heart for a reason and a specific purpose?
Perhaps, lately, they’re going through a really hard time. Maybe a loved one in their life hasn’t been doing very well, and time seems like it might be limited for them. Their hearts may feel so heavy right now, and the weight of their situation is taking a toll. That’s why your prayers for them are so needed. Your prayers can help renew their strength. Your prayers can help them keep going when their white flag is raised high.
Scripture reminds us to look beyond ourselves and lift up others:
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Friends, you never know the full impact your prayers may have on someone’s life. Maybe you have friends who have been questioning their faith because life has thrown them curveball after curveball. They’re struggling to understand why so much hardship has hit them all at once. Your prayers can remind them that God still cares. He’s still in control. He’s still working all things together for their good, even when they can’t see it yet (see Romans 8:28).
As believers in Christ, we are the body of the Church. And as the body, it is our responsibility to love and pray for one another. We should be thankful for the ones called to teach and lead us but we must also remember to pray for them. Just like us, they are human. If you think they don’t struggle, you’re wrong. We all struggle. We all need Jesus, and we all need prayer.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests… always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” — Ephesians 6:18
Prayer
Loving Father God, thank You for the names You place on my heart. Thank You for bringing people to my attention not by accident, but by Your design. It is a privilege to pray for them and an honor to be connected to so many believers around the world. Use me to remind others that someone cares, and that someone is willing to stand in the gap and pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
