The Best Choice You Will Ever Make Is Jesus

The Best Choice You Will Ever Make Is Jesus.

We make choices every single day. Some are simple choices: what we will eat, what we will wear, what we will do with our time? Other choices carry much greater weight. We make decisions about our families, our relationships, our finances, our future, and the direction of our lives.

Have you ever stopped to think about just how many choices we make in a single day?

Studies estimate that the average person makes thousands of decisions each day, many of them so routine that we don't even realize we're making them.

Among all the choices we make on a daily basis, only one matters eternally, and that choice is Jesus. Choosing Jesus is a conscious decision we must make everyday.

Our Best Bet Is to Follow Jesus

We are living in a time when so much around us feels uncertain. Yet, while the world changes, God's Word remains unchanged. We don't have to look very far to see that we are living in a world Jesus warned us about. Scripture has given us prophecy concerning the days we are living in, and many believers are watching events unfold with an urgency that reminds us that we don't have forever to put off important decisions in our lives.

Jesus told us:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

Jesus didn't say He was a way. He said He is the Way. He didn't say He knew some truth.

He said He is the Truth. He didn't say He could give us a better life. He said He is the Life.

There is no substitute for Jesus. No amount of good works can replace Him. No religion can replace Him. No amount of money, success, popularity, possessions, or earthly accomplishments can secure what only Jesus can give. Eternal life is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The High Price of Our Free Gift

What makes salvation so incredible is that it is a gift, but it was not cheap. Our salvation cost Jesus everything. He willingly laid down His life so that we could have life.

John 3:16 reminds us:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Think about that. God loved you enough to give His Son. Jesus loved you enough to willingly go to the cross. He took the punishment we deserved so that we could receive the life we could never earn, and now He extends His hand and says, “Come follow Me.”

Put Your Hope in Nothing Less

There are so many things people place their hope in. We hope in relationships. We hope in our careers and our bank accounts. We hope in people and in the government.

We hope in our plans, our possessions, and our circumstances, but all of those things can change. People can disappoint us and money can disappear. Plans can fall apart and circumstances can shift overnight, but Jesus still remains.

Our hope cannot ultimately rest in something that can be taken away. Our hope must be anchored in Jesus Christ and His righteousness.

Hebrews 6:19 describes this hope beautifully:

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

An anchor doesn't stop the storm from coming. It keeps the boat from being carried away by the storm, and that's what Jesus does for us.

Following Jesus doesn't mean we will never face storms. It means we don't have to face them without an anchor.

We Are Covenant People

When we surrender our lives to Christ, we enter into something far greater than simply carrying the label "Christian." We become children of God. We are covenant people, and being a covenant child means learning to trust the One who made the covenant.

God keeps His promises. When He says His Word will come to pass, it will.

When He says He will never leave us, He won't. When He promises eternal life to those who believe in Christ, we can trust Him. When Scripture tells us Jesus is coming again, we can believe it. We can not base our faith or our confidence on what makes sense. Our confidence is based on who God is.

Numbers 23:19 tells us:

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

God keeps His Word every time.

So What Will You Choose? With all the choices you will make today, don't miss the most important one. Choose Jesus.

Choose Him when you're afraid and when you're confused. Choose Him when the world seems upside down and you don't seem to understand what’s going on.

Choose Jesus when following Him costs you something and everyone else is walking in another direction. Choose Him when your feelings tell you to quit and choose Him again tomorrow, because following Jesus isn't simply a decision we make once at an altar

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, don't put that decision off.

Tomorrow isn't promised. The next opportunity isn't guaranteed.

But today, you can say: “Jesus, I choose You. Salvation is for everyone.

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10: 9-10

If you already belong to Him, then keep believing and trusting.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and keep obeying, because when everything else is shaking, He is still standing and remains the same.

When the world is uncertain, He is certain and when you don't know what tomorrow holds, you can know who holds tomorrow.

There will be thousands of choices placed before you today, but there is one choice that will change everything, not just for one day, but for eternity.

Remember, Jesus did say, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (see John 14:6).

Two Action Steps

1. Make Jesus your first choice every morning.

Before you reach for your phone, your schedule, or the worries of the day, reach for God's Word. Pray, “Lord, today I choose You. Lead my thoughts, my words, my decisions, and my steps.”

2. Examine where you are placing your hope.

Ask yourself honestly: “What am I trusting more than Jesus?” Surrender those things to Him. Your circumstances may change, but your anchor doesn't have to.

Father God,

Thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your only Son for us. Thank You, Jesus, for willingly laying down Your life so that we could have life. Forgive us for the times we have placed our hope in people, possessions, circumstances, or our own understanding instead of You. Today, we choose You.

When the world is uncertain, help us remember that You are certain. When we are afraid, remind us that You are our refuge. When we don't understand what is happening around us, help us trust the One who sees the beginning from the end.

Lord, help us not simply call ourselves Christians, but truly follow Christ. Teach us to recognize Your voice, obey Your Word, stand firm in truth, and live as covenant children who trust the promises of our Father.

Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. When the world shakes, keep our faith steady. When the enemy whispers fear, remind us of Your truth. When we face the thousands of choices that come before us each day, help us continually make the greatest choice of all you.

Thank You for the cross. Thank You for salvation. Thank You for grace.

Thank You for the promise of eternal life and that no matter what tomorrow holds, You hold us in Your hands.

In the mighty name of Jesus,

Amen.
