Behold the Lamb ~ When the World Gets It Wrong

Behold the Lamb ~ When the World Gets It Wrong

When you picture a lamb, what comes to mind? Do you think soft, innocent, or gentle? If the lamb is spotless and white, the word ‘pure’ may even come to mind.

For years, people have misunderstood lambs. They’ve been labeled as weak, foolish, or easily led astray creatures that wander, get lost, and need constant guidance. But the truth is what looks like weakness is often something much deeper.

That same misunderstanding carries into how the world sees Jesus the misunderstood Lamb.

The world looks at Jesus on the cross and calls it foolish. They say He was too kind, too forgiving, and willing to suffer. They may question why someone so innocent would choose pain.

What people fail to see is that Jesus was never naive, He was intentional. He wasn’t overpowered, He surrendered. He wasn’t weak, He was love in its strongest form.

Scripture reminds us:

“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29

Jesus is the Lamb,  Spotless, Pure, and Blameless.

No accusation could ever stick to Him. No sin could ever define Him, and yet, He chose the cross.

Love That Doesn’t Make Sense to the World

The world struggles to understand sacrificial love. It says to protect yourself, avoid pain, and only give when it benefits you.

Jesus lived a different message:

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

What looked like defeat was actually victory. What looked like weakness was divine strength. What looked like a loss was the greatest rescue mission in history.

Jesus didn’t go to the cross because He had to. He went because He loves you, and that kind of love doesn’t always feel safe.

Sometimes love costs something and sometimes love hurts, but real love , God’s love, heals, restores, and redeems.

The Bigger Picture

Jesus understood something the world still struggles to grasp:

Pain is temporary, but purpose is eternal. He saw beyond the cross. He saw redemption, and He saw you. Jesus knew that through His sacrifice healing would come for the broken, freedom would come for the captives, and hope for the lost.

This is why He endured it all.

Life Application: Living Like We Believe It

It’s easy to say we believe in Jesus, but living it out requires a shift in how we see things.

Stop letting the world define Truth. Pay attention to the voices you’re listening to.

Are they leading you closer to Jesus, or pulling you away?

Make a daily choice to spend time in Scripture. Replace doubt with truth, and align your thoughts with God’s Word, not the world’s opinions.

Choose Love, even when it’s hard.

Jesus didn’t love when it was easy, He loved when it cost everything.

Ask yourself:

Who do I need to forgive?

Where can I show grace instead of judgment?

How can I reflect Christ’s love today

Love may stretch you. It may even hurt at times, but it will always produce something etern

A Heart Check

The world says Jesus was wrong, but the cross says otherwise, and the empty tomb says otherwise. Your life, transformed by His love, says otherwise.

The world has it wrong. Jesus knew exactly what He was doing.

Today’s Worship Moment

Let this truth settle into your heart as you listen to Behold The Lamb by Passion Music.

Let it remind you of the beauty, the sacrifice, and the overwhelming love of the Lamb who chose you.

Father God,

Today I come before You with a grateful heart. Thank You for sending Jesus – the spotless Lamb – who chose love over comfort, sacrifice over safety, and purpose over pain.

Lord, help me to see the cross the way You intended, not as weakness, but as the greatest act of love ever given. Strengthen my faith when the world tries to distort the truth.

Help me to stand firm in Your Word and not be swayed by voices that don’t reflect You.

Teach me to love like Jesus, even when it’s hard, even when it stretches me, and even when it costs me something. Let my life be a reflection of His sacrifice and His grace.

Open the eyes of those who don’t yet understand Your love. Soften hearts, draw the lost near, let truth rise above confusion, and remind me daily, Lord,

that what You began, You will finish (see Philippians 1:6), that pain is temporary, and that Your love will always have the final word.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
