Goodness and Mercy Will Follow You
Goodness and Mercy Will Follow You
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…” – Psalm 23:6
Do you truly believe that goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life?
For most of us, at times, that can be hard to believe, especially during the difficult seasons we experience throughout our life.
Some days feel like mountaintops ~ full of joy and clarity ~ but what about the other days? They can feel like valleys ~ heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming. In those moments, it can seem like our challenges will never change, like being stuck in a cycle that won’t break.
The truth we must hold onto is that no matter what we face, the Lord is always with us. We are never alone.
Scripture reminds us: “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
Loved friend, I don’t know what you’re up against today ~ maybe you feel like the odds are stacked against you, or you feel stuck, weary, or forgotten. Don’t lose heart, hope still exists, and His name is Jesus.
Some days, I need to be reminded of God’s amazing grace, especially in this season of parenting my three children. There are moments I feel like I’m falling short, or I feel I’m not doing enough, or for that matter, even doing it right. The pressure can whisper lies that I’m failing them, and myself. Then I remember that God entrusted these children to me on purpose.
I don’t have to be a perfect superhuman mom. I just have to be present, try my best, and love them well.
I’m here to remind you of that also. God’s grace is available for all who will receive it.
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16
Those negative thoughts that at times try to creep in your mind ~ they are lies ~ don’t believe them, and don’t give them any power. Rebuke them and replace them with truth.
The Word tells us: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
Action Steps for Today
1. Speak Truth Over Yourself
Take a moment today to identify one negative thought you’ve been believing. Replace it with God’s truth. Write it down, say it out loud, and stand firmly on it.
2. Give Yourself Grace
You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be faithful. Today, choose to extend yourself the same grace God freely gives you. Celebrate the small wins.
Father,
We all walk through different seasons, some filled with joy, others with deep challenges. Help us to remember that no matter where we are, You are with us. Remind us that Your goodness and mercy are not distant promises, but present realities. Teach us to rest in Your presence and trust in Your plan. When we feel overwhelmed, give us peace. When we feel inadequate, remind us that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. With You beside us, we can face anything.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
