Living in the Love of God ~ The Power That Conquers All
Living in the Love of God ~
The Power That Conquers All
“If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love… Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
John 15:10–14
To show the love of God is not just something we say, it is something we live. Jesus tells us that remaining in His love is tied directly to obedience. This is how we walk as friends of God: by living out His truth and His love, even when that truth is difficult to hear or share.
A Life That Speaks Truth and Love
Stephen’s life is a powerful example of this kind of love. In Acts 7:55, even while being rejected, Stephen stood full of the Holy Spirit, gazing into heaven. He spoke God’s truth boldly, yet his heart remained anchored in love. Sadly, Scripture shows us that people can hear the truth and still walk in pride.
Truth alone does not transform a heart, truth received in humility does.
What Does it Mean to Fuel Your Actions?
Jesus teaches us that the overflow of the heart speaks through the mouth (see Matthew 12:34). Our words matter because they reveal what is truly ruling within us.
Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that God’s Word is living and active, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It lovingly judges, not to condemn, but to correct, heal, and realign us with God’s will.
God is always looking at the position of our heart, not just our outward actions (see Psalm 11; 1 Peter 5:5). Pride hardens us, but love softens us and keeps us teachable.
Love Is Our Defense and Our Power
God does not ask us to fight our battles in our own strength.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
“Perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18
When we walk in God’s love, fear loses its grip, not only in us, but in those around us. Love changes atmospheres. Love disarms anger. Love opens hearts that arguments never could.
Faith itself only works through love. Without love, faith becomes noise instead of power.
Walking in Love Keeps Us Aligned
Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:23–28 that our works alone mean nothing. Without a relationship with Christ, all our efforts in this life will eventually come to ruin. It’s the love of God that keeps us rooted in Christ, rather than in our own pride or performance. If our response to problems are not aimed towards restoration and salvation, we should pause and do a heart check.
Mark 11:23–25 reminds us that faith requires forgiveness and love to remain effective.
Bitterness Blocks Breakthroughs, but Love Releases it.
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8
When God’s love is poured out in our hearts, it transforms how we speak, how we respond, and how we live. This is why we must choose daily to walk in love, live in love, and let the love of God work through us.
Love is not weakness. Love is not compromising. Love is the power that conquers all things.
Action Steps
Heart Check: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything in your heart that is rooted in pride, fear, or unforgiveness. Surrender it to God in prayer.
Love in Action: Choose one intentional way today to show God’s love, especially in a situation where it may be difficult.
Father God, thank You for Your perfect love that casts out all fear. Search my heart and align it with Yours. Remove pride, bitterness, and anything that hinders your love from flowing through me. Teach me to walk in truth with humility and to speak words that reflect Your grace. Let Your love be the force behind every word, every action, and every response. I choose today to live in Your love and to let that love conquer all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
