It's Time To Kick The Devil Out

It’s Time to Kick The Devil Out!
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” —John 10:10
“No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!” —Isaiah 54:17
The above two scriptures are vital for Christians to believe, trust, and live by. If we have come to Jesus, believing in our heart that He is LORD, then our sins (past, present, and future) are forgiven and we are now no longer slaves to sin.
At this moment in history we are living in a dark and evil world. It seems like Satan is working overtime on every front. As Christians, we need to be on guard and stay diligent against his schemes. We need to be strong and not forget the authority that was given to us by Jesus.
“I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”---Luke 10:19
The devil wants to draw us away from our union with God. When the storms of life come, (and they will come - see John 16:33), it is easier for us to focus more on our problem than our fellowship with the LORD, and that’s exactly what Satan wants us to do! He planned it from the start, but what we need to remember is this: God is Omniscient (all knowing) and Omnipresent (present everywhere simultaneously). Satan is not! There is no one above God Almighty, and there never will be!
There will be times when sickness or disease tries to attack your body. This is the time when you must put the devil in his place! When the symptoms come you can say, “Satan, I rebuke you and all you stand for. You are not going to put any sickness on me today, or ever! I don’t care what symptoms you throw my way. By the power of Jesus and His blood, I have overcome this sickness because He who lives in me is far greater than you, who is in this world.”
We do have authority, but we also have choices. We can be like the Israelites and wander around in the wilderness in defeat because of the enemy, or we can make the choice to make demands where Satan and his associates are concerned. We can’t just wait around and hope that he will go away. HE WON’T! Satan will not let go of any area of your life. He won’t give up unless you force him.
As Christians, we can exercise our authority by standing firm on the Word of God and by resisting temptations. Though resisting temptations is not always easy, we can be assured that God is with us, even as we are being tempted.
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” —1 Corinthians 10:13
WEAPONS
Christians should be unrelenting when it comes to fighting the enemy. There is a constant war between good and evil. We need the help of the Holy Spirit within us.
“The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces
are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.” —Galations 5:17
“Stay Alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.” —1 Peter 5:8-9
To help us fight Satan and his associates, God has given us Spiritual weapons. If used mightily and purposefully, these weapons can bring Satan down. The Bible calls them The Armor of God, and tells us that if we put on this armor we “will be able to stand firm against the strategies of the devil” (see Ephesians 6:11-17)
- Belt of Truth
- Breastplate of Righteousness
- Gospel of Peace (shoes)
- Shield of Faith
- Helmut of Salvation
- Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)
Since we are fighting against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, these are the weapons God has given us to fight. We can be assured of victory if used correctly.
Satan’s dominion in this world does, ultimately, come to an end. He is working hard, while he has the time, to get as many souls he can away from God and Heaven.
“Terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.” —Revelation 12:12
In the end, there will be a great battle with Satan’s army consumed by Heaven’s fire. After that, the devil will be thrown in the lake of fire (see Revelation 20:8-10).
Another weapon to fight against the devil is to pray. We must never stop praying. Praying in the Spirit can be very effective against the evil in this world. Worship can also help you fight. Even when you don’t feel like it, or not in the mood, praise and worship the LORD.
HE IS WORTHY!
“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” —Hebrews 10:23, 25
If we use the tools God has given us, we can KICK THE DEVIL OUT!!!
