Hold On, God Is Still With You

Hold On, God Is Still With You

There are seasons in life when your heart feels weary and your soul feels stretched thin, when the prayers you've prayed a hundred times seem to echo back unanswered, or when you smile for others while quietly carrying burdens no one else can see.

Perhaps you're in one of those seasons now, praying for a prodigal child, struggling financially, grieving a loss, or simply feeling exhausted from fighting battle after battle. You wonder how much longer you can keep going. You ask God for strength, yet the road ahead still seems uncertain.

The truth is, faith often looks very different than we imagine. We tend to think faith is easy when everything is going well, but real faith is forged in difficult places. Faith is standing when everything around you is shaking. Faith is continuing to pray when you don't see immediate answers. Faith is trusting God's character when your circumstances are tempting you to give up.

The enemy would love for you to believe that you're alone in your struggle. He whispers lies that God has forgotten you, that your prayers don't matter, and that your situation will never change, but God's Word tells a different story.

Throughout Scripture, we see ordinary people walking through extraordinary trials. Moses stood before an impossible sea. Daniel faced a den of lions. David hid in caves while running for his life. Martha stood grieving at her brother's tomb. Yet in every situation, God was present.

The same God who parted the Red Sea for His people is still making a way today. The same God who shut the mouths of lions still protects His children. The same God who rolled the stone away from the tomb still specializes in bringing life to situations that seem hopeless.

Sometimes we look for God's presence in dramatic miracles while missing the quiet ways He is carrying us every day. He is there in the friend who calls at just the right moment.

He is there in the Scripture that speaks directly to your heart. He is there in the strength that helps you get out of bed when you don't feel like you can take another step. He is there in every tear you've cried and every prayer you've whispered.

Isaiah 41:10 reminds us:

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

What a beautiful promise. God never said life would be free from valleys, but He did promise we would never walk through them alone.

Psalm 34:18 tells us:

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Notice that Scripture doesn't say God is close only when we're strong. It says He draws near to the brokenhearted. When your heart feels shattered and your strength feels gone, God's presence is not farther away, it's often closer than ever.

Your story is not over, breakthrough is not impossible, and your waiting season is not wasted.

God is still working, even when you cannot see it. Do not stop praying, keep trusting, keep showing up, and keep believing His promises over your fears.

When you can't see His hand, trust His heart. When you can't understand His plan, trust His character.

One day you'll look back and realize that the God who carried you through yesterday's storms is the same God who faithfully carried you through today's battle.

And He will carry you through tomorrow as well.

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me." Psalm 23:4

Hold on, and keep the faith. The God who brought you this far is not going to leave you now.

Action Step

Take five minutes today and write down times when God has been faithful in your life. They don't have to be big miracles. Did He provide a need, answered a prayer, sent encouragement through a friend, or carried you through a difficult season?

When discouragement tries to creep in, revisit that list and remind yourself that the God who was faithful then is still faithful today.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the God who never leaves us and never forsakes us. Thank You for walking beside us through every valley, every trial, and every difficult season. When our hearts grow weary and our faith feels weak, remind us that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Lord, help us trust You when we cannot see what You are doing. Help us cling to Your promises when circumstances seem overwhelming. Give us the courage to keep praying, the endurance to keep believing, and the peace that comes from knowing You are in control.

For every person reading this who feels exhausted, discouraged, or forgotten, surround them with Your presence today. Let them feel Your comfort, Your peace, and Your unfailing love. Remind them that You are working even when they cannot see it and that their story is still being written by Your faithful hand.

We place our worries, fears, and burdens before You and choose to trust You with them.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
